Los Cabos, BCS, November 15, 2023.- The seventeenth edition of Los Cabos VIP Summit 2023 successfully culminates by registering more than 1,600 business meetings with major airline, travel agency, tour operator and hotel company representatives, national and international, to diversify the presence of visitors from new markets to the destination.
The most important business event in Los Cabos took place at Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos Resort from November 13 to 16, with 69 tourism business partners from the main issuing markets (United States, Canada and Mexico); as well as seven from emerging markets (Australia, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, France, Japan and the United Kingdom) who have shown significant growth in the flow of travelers to Los Cabos.
“Actively incursing in emerging markets is an opportunity to drive specific segments by taking advantage of strong air connectivity and thereby bringing the broad travel and business offering to potential travelers and industry members, through a strategy that integrates specific actions that encourage their growth,” said Rodrigo Esponda, director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.
It should be noted that for this occasion, the promotion strategy focused on driving the development of emerging markets with the aim of diversifying the flow of visitors in the medium term, through the vast tourist offer that Los Cabos offers.
This was driven by growth in 38.9% of the Colombian market, 511% of the Japanese market, 33.8% of the German market, from January to August 2023, where the presence of the destination will continue to be boosted. Figures that have contributed to the arrival of +3.2 million passengers from January to October Los Cabos, 11.5% higher than the same period in 2022.
As part of the agenda for the event, the Advisory Board session was held with the participation of 69 business partners, with whom the actions taken during 2023 were shared, as well as the strategy for 2024 to strengthen the presence of Los Cabos in the most prominent issuing markets.
In addition to promoting an event dedicated to social responsibility to support the Children’s Heart Foundation. An organization dedicated to supporting children and adolescents with congenital heart disease in Baja California Sur.
Mauricio Salicrup, chairman of the board of directors of the Los Cabos Hotel Association, highlighted the leadership that Los Cabos has maintained as a key point for the development of international tourism activity derived from the collaboration between local and private authorities; as well as the timely work of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust that has been key for the sustainable growth of activity in the destination.
During the three days of the event, attendees learned first-hand about the destination’s extensive portfolio of tourist services such as the luxury accommodation offering comprised of 13 luxury properties with 2,000 rooms available under the Virtuoso badge of the more than 18,000 in the destination; robust aerial connectivity to the world’s major cities with 500 flights a week; and a vast portfolio of wellness, gastronomic and adventure experiences.
By 2024, the promotion efforts will help boost Los Cabos’ leadership as a destination by expanding its hotel offering with the opening of 7 new properties and the increase in the number of air seats, in an effort to attract a greater number of visitors and provide certainty among the main players in the industry.
