The sixteenth edition of Los Cabos VIP Summit 2022 successfully culminates by registering more than 1,600 business meetings with airlines, travel agencies, tour operators and hotel companies, both domestic and international. The Los Cabos VIP Summit, held at Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos Resort from November 14 to 16, has positioned itself as the most important business forum in the destination, promoting the development of its tourist activity. This edition involved 70 local suppliers and 54 business partners from the major issuer (US and Canada) and emerging markets (Brazil, Australia and Europe).

“Resuming the VIP Summit in-person format has allowed us to reconnect and close relationships with professionals from the main issuing and developing markets. in addition to offering the different actors of the local industry the conditions to generate business opportunities that encourage the development of the sector and, together, maintain Los Cabos positioning as a competitive destination, state-of-the-art and world-class,” Rodrigo Esponda said, Managing Director of Los Cabos Tourism Board (FITURCA).

During the event, Competitive Intelligence was highlighted as the key factor that FITURCA leads in generating business opportunities; as well as the Collaboration Unit among the different industry actors to offer the conditions and certainty that industry-related brands seek to develop or strengthen their presence and offer the visitor high-quality products in a natural environment that complement their experience.

For its part, Mauricio Salicrup, chairman of the board of directors of the Hotel Association of Los Cabos, highlighted the excellent communication and relationship between government authorities and private initiative as the axes of development and momentum of the tourist activity of the destination, which have allowed Los Cabos to position itself as an international benchmark for its way of working and managing business opportunities.

As part of the event agenda, the Advisory Board session was held with the participation of 18 business partners, as well as four networking events and the master conference “A blind man with vision” led by Hein Wagner, lecturer and international traveler; as well as a virtual tradeshow for travel agents and partners who wanted to meet with remote exhibitors.

During the three days of the event, industry professionals learned first-hand about the destination’s broad portfolio of tourism services, through the accommodation offer headed by 13 luxury properties with the Virtuoso badge; availability of more than 18,000 rooms at the destination, of which, 2,000 make up the luxury segment; robust air connectivity to and from the world’s major cities with 500 flights a week, and a vast portfolio of wellness experiences, gastronomics and adventure.

According to Rodrigo Esponda, and with the aim of motivating the constant evolution of the VIP Summit for the benefit of participants and the industry, the 2023 edition will set a precedent in which we will seek to integrate more local and international business partners to increase business opportunities in a space where interaction and meeting efficiency are the path to continue driving the development of the tourist segment in the destination.
