Visit La Ventana
Nestled along the Sea of Cortez lies La Ventana, a small beach town located 40 minutes southeast of La Paz and about two and a half hours from the Los Cabos International Airport. Truly a gem of the Baja California Sur, this little fishing village presents plenty of things to do for the traveler – number one and two on the hit list being windsurfing and kiteboarding. Winds kick up from November to March, averaging 15 to 30 knots which that propel the sails on any wind chaser for fast and wild fun. Be sure to visit during the La Ventana windsurfing classic, a windsurfing competition that supports local schools, and have a ton of fun along the way. Visitors should take full advantage of being waterside, as other activities to please the visitor include snorkeling in the placid, aquamarine waters to come face to face with brilliant multicolored species of aquarium type fish, diving under the sparkling waves to go eye to eye with wild crustaceans, and kayaking around the nooks and crannies of the coves to observe wildlife. Other places to visit include a quick day trip to La Paz to complete your wildlife journey.
