Los Cabos Museums and History
While the indigenous Pericues Indians have called Los Cabos their home for centuries, maybe even a millennium, the relatively new history of the area has only been around for a few hundred years. A visit to local museums will enlighten visitors to the local culture through myriad exhibits and showcases. The largest museum is the Natural History Museum of Cabo San Lucas which houses artifacts and collections of paleobotany, geology, and paleo-biology. Visitors can also tour the Mission San Jose del Cabo built in 1730 by a Jesuit Mission or stop by El Triunfo for a glimpse into the silver mining legacy of Baja California Sur.
