Cabo Pulmo, "The Aquarium of the World"

One of the jewels of the East Cape is Cabo Pulmo, approximately two hours away from San Jose del Cabo. It is a protected National Marine Park recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, representing one of the most impressive achievements in ocean conservation and the only hard coral reef in the Gulf of California. 

Estimated to be around 20,000 years old, the reef of Cabo Pulmo has been considered a treasure of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula and has over 800 species of marine life, hence its nickname, ‘’The Aquarium of the World’’.
