2018 has been a bumper year for new property openings in Los Cabos, and not only are these new hotels and resorts on the cutting edge of style and luxury, they all have a different and unique approach to hospitality. Get the low down on the new openings, as well as what’s coming up later in the year!

Viceroy

Formerly the Mar Adentro, this 194-room property has been renovated and transformed into the Viceroy under the vision of Mexico-based architect Miguel Angel Aragonés. The whole resort embraces the beauty of water and the life-giving liquid is blended into the design seamlessly. The buildings and pathways seem to emerge from the water, and the pools and fountains seem to stretch on forever into the Pacific Ocean beyond. Even the colour palette reflects the soft blues and sand tones of the Los Cabos shoreline. Beyond this watery aesthetic, the redesign has brought new bars, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and five exquisite dining venues, each with their own distinct cuisine. Sample from the ceviche in the almost-floating nests of Nido, or the traditional Mexican fare and tequila library of Casero restaurant.

Le Blanc

Le Blanc Los Cabos comes to the peninsula from Cancun, where its sister property is considered one of the best spa resorts in the Caribbean resort town. The all-inclusive resort focuses on a restful and relaxing experience, and contains one of the best and most immersive spa treatment programs to be found along the capes. When you’re not lounging by one of the four beachfront pools, or dining at the signature French, Italian, and Asian restaurants, you are likely to find yourself wandering towards BlancSpa. This spa is fitted out with 25 treatment suites, broken up into 9 couple’s suites, 15 single suites, and one D’or suite for a new level of health and relaxation. On the menu, you’ll find a range of massages, body wraps, hydrotherapy, manicures and pedicures, and face and skin treatments.

Montage

The first of its name to open outside of the United States, Montage Los Cabos blends the opulence of the brand with the unique aspects of our destination to create a truly unique experience. The resort sits on the swimmable beach at Santa Maria Bay, giving it walk-in access to some of the best swimming and snorkelling in the entire region. If you’re travelling with kids, they will have a blast checking into the Montage’s signature children’s program Paintbox, where they’ll take part in arts and crafts, swimming, stargazing, and culinary activities.

Solaz

This property is set to open in early September, and it will look to incorporate the destination into every aspect of the resort. The halls and corridors will feature local and international art and architecture displays, marine life in huge displays, as well as the “El Gabinete del Barco” Exhibition, which showcases natural history from around the area dating back over 500 years in an interactive museum and reading room. Not just reserved for the natural history buffs, this property also boasts a long pool that stretches along the ocean side of the resort, where guests can order signature drinks, and food. Work on your body and soul as well at the spa and gym, the latter of which looks out over the blue Pacific stretching out in front of you.

Garza Blanca

Another property coming later in 2018, the Garza Blanca will be handily located almost right in the centre of the tourist corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The resort therefore will be a blend of the best of both worlds, both the refined sophistication of San Jose del Cabo and the youthful energy of Cabo San Lucas. The suites available for booking include two, three and four bedroom “ultra” lofts that come with the very best in luxury and the space in which to enjoy it. Taste some gourmet delights at three main restaurants when they open, from the avant-garde Blanca Blue, to the haute steakhouse BocaDos STK.
